News....

We don't qualify for Haitian adoptions...REALLY?

This is the email I got today....

"From IBESR no good news : Olson are too young to adopt, the 1974 law requires 35 years old. I think we are waiting for the new law or a clemency of the director of IBRSR. We will keep in touch."

So far, I am not that nervous. I know that this is my child, and nothing will stand in the way of that, not even some silly law...

So, Please pray that the director will see our file, along with some others who are in the same situation, and give us clemency. Pray for each family in our situation, along for us, that our spirits would not be broken because of this. Pray for our files to not be held up any longer than they have been already. If you are a part of this whole situation, and you know if you are, know that we are praying for your file too!

On another note, day 2 of our yard sale brought in another $108. Our grand total for the 2 days combined are $718. Praise God for the wonderful couple who donated so much for us to sell, and for the shoppers who bought from us. We have been truly blessed by the greatness of others.

OK, I just had an after thought, if this is Satan's way of trying to bum me out after GOD blessing us the way he did today, it's just simply not going to happen! He's crazy to think that this will break our adoption, God has indicated he's in control otherwise! So there! My after thought! :)

We are praying for you and everyone in this situation. Satan's making every last ditch attept to give the appearance that he is in control. These children are coming into Christian homes... what a huge threat to the evil and darkness that has been blanketing Haiti for so long. We were told that since we didn't meet the laws, we would need additional documentation to make it out of IBESR. We were signed out before we even sent it to Haiti. God is in control.

We just found out our sons file was signed out of IBESR after 8 long months. We don't meet the "requirements" either. We're 32, have 3 bio kids and our son has no special needs. We did send a letter to the President in March, but I am not sure it was ever needed. Keep praying and trusting, and it will work out. Let this be a lesson in patience and trust!

Tim + Sarah,

I'm sorry to hear, but I am still praying for you. Your after thought is completely true. Satan does what he can to decieve our hopes in Christ. Keep your heads up because God is faithful.

Love you guys.

Mark
